Namaste,

Welcome, and congratulations on taking this sacred step. ✈️ Getting to Sedona

Airports & Transportation

Sedona sits in the heart of Arizona's high desert, surrounded by the Coconino National Forest. There is no commercial airport in Sedona itself — here is how to get here from wherever you are in the world.

Recommended
PHX
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
~2 hours · 115 miles south of Sedona

The most convenient gateway to Sedona, with the widest range of domestic and international flights, competitive fares, and plentiful car rental options. Drive north on I-17, then take AZ-179 North into Sedona — a scenic and straightforward route.

FLG
Flagstaff Pulliam Airport
~45 minutes · 26 miles north of Sedona

The geographically closest commercial airport — a beautiful 40-minute drive south through Oak Creek Canyon to Sedona. However, flight options are limited (connections typically route through Phoenix or Dallas), and February snowfall can occasionally affect access. Best for travellers connecting from DFW or DEN.

🚗
Rental Car — Recommended

The most flexible option. All major agencies are available at PHX. Pick up your car at the terminal's rental centre and enjoy the scenic 2-hour drive through the Sonoran Desert and Verde Valley. Sedona requires a car for exploring — this is the preferred approach.

🚌
Shuttle Service

Groome Transportation operates a shared shuttle from Phoenix Sky Harbor directly to Sedona hotels. Book in advance — seats fill up, especially on weekends. Journey time approximately 2.5–3 hours including stops. Ideal if you prefer not to drive.

🚕
Private Transfer

Several Sedona-based companies offer private door-to-door transfers from PHX. A more comfortable option, especially for later arrivals. Pre-book through your hotel concierge or search "Sedona private airport transfer." Approximate cost: $150–$220 one way.

🗺 Driving Directions: Phoenix Sky Harbor → Hilton Sedona Bell Rock

February in Sedona — Daytime highs around 55–62°F (13–17°C), with cool to cold mornings and evenings dropping to 35–40°F (2–4°C). Clear, crisp winter skies and low humidity. Occasional light snow is possible at higher elevations, but the Bell Rock area (lower elevation) typically remains clear. Sedona's winter is genuinely beautiful — long golden light, no crowds, silence in the red rocks.

  • Pack warm layers — mornings and evenings are cold; afternoons are pleasant
  • A light to medium jacket or fleece is essential for outdoor time
  • Sun protection still matters — desert UV is strong even in winter
  • Sedona air is very dry — bring lip balm and hand cream
  • Comfortable walking shoes for the hotel grounds and optional trails
  • Rain is unlikely but possible — a light rain jacket is useful

Explore the Sacred Land of Sedona

Sedona is considered one of the most energetically potent landscapes on Earth. Known internationally for its spiritual vortex sites, it is no coincidence that your Tapas journey takes place here. Arrive a day early or stay after — this land has much to offer.

🧗
Bell Rock Trail

Your backyard during Tapas. Bell Rock is a revered vortex site — an easy-to-moderate trail circling the base, with options to ascend higher. Sunrise and golden hour here are deeply moving. Just minutes from the hotel on foot.

🌅
Cathedral Rock Sunset

One of the most photographed sunsets on Earth. Cathedral Rock's reflection in Oak Creek is an iconic Sedona image. The trail is moderate and takes about 45 minutes to the saddle. Best visited in late afternoon.

🚁
Red Rock Jeep & Helicopter Tours

Pink Jeep Tours are Sedona's most famous outdoor experience — off-road adventures through formations inaccessible on foot. Helicopter tours give a breathtaking bird's-eye view of the entire red rock landscape.

🎨
Tlaquepaque Arts Village

Sedona's iconic arts and crafts village — a maze of galleries, hand-crafted jewellery, ceramics, and Southwestern art set in a beautiful hacienda-style complex. One of the finest art villages in the American Southwest.

🌌
Stargazing

Sedona has strict dark-sky ordinances limiting light pollution. On a clear February night, the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye. The hotel grounds offer a remarkable stargazing experience, or drive to a viewpoint away from town.

🏛
Ancient Ruins — Tuzigoot & Palatki

The Sinagua people inhabited this canyon country 1,000 years ago, leaving behind remarkable cliff dwellings and pueblo ruins. Tuzigoot National Monument is 30 minutes away; Palatki Heritage Site preserves sacred rock art.

4
The Four Sacred Vortex Sites of Sedona

Sedona is world-famous for its energy vortexes — places where the Earth's electromagnetic field is believed to be particularly concentrated and conducive to healing, meditation, and spiritual awareness. Whether or not you are drawn to the metaphysics, spending quiet time at these sites during your Tapas stay deepens the experience of what you are doing in the programme hall. Each vortex has a distinct quality of energy — some are expansive and uplifting; others are quieting and introspective.
